Paul Burrell Deber Real (Spanish Edition) Planeta 8484603296 / 9788484603290 PAPERBACK Fine 8484603296 Editorial Reviews - Deber real (A Royal Duty) n n nMariluz Rodríguez, New York City - Criticas n n nBurrell, majordomo and so-called "rock" of the late princess of Wales, wrote this long-winded but entertaining biography as an act of revenge against her family and the House of Windsor. After his whirlwind arrest for allegedly stealing from the royal family, and his last-minute rescue through the intervention of the queen herself, Burrell wrote this book to improve his finances, disprove his accusers, and justify Diana's dubious behavior. Already an international best seller, the book begins with the story of Burrell's humble beginnings as a servant in Buckingham Palace and continues through his becoming, after many years, the most-trusted confidant of the princess, who felt increasingly isolated after her separation and divorce from Prince Charles. Although Burrell adds little of note to the already massive literature on the royals (even as he claims to know devastating secrets that he prefers to keep to himself, at least for now), the book is still entertaining, especially in the way Burrell uses the many personal letters Diana wrote that are currently in his (indiscreet) possession. Moreover, the work proves worthwhile for its illuminating description of day to day palace life. Translated into a strongly flavored Argentine Spanish, this book will be of great interest to the princess's myriad fans (and fanatics) and to all those curious about aristocratic decadence, not only in Britain but in Europe as well. Recommended for all bookstores, and for public libraries with large Spanish-language collections. nCopyright ® Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. Price:
